// Project summary
Hi people! This wonderful youth project we did from 12.7 - 20.7.08 in Italy was related to ecology. We went by bike through the northern region of Italy (Piemonte and Liguria) and during our stops and free afternoons we had plenty of workshops, interesting working sessions and discussion. Riding together was also a way to know each other and to get in touch with nature.
One week of riding up and down through beautiful Italy! Camping at different places every day, cooking outside- just living in the nature as simple as possible! It was just a very special experience for all of us- 30 people from 6 different countries (Italy, Austria, Hungary, Romania Lithuania, Turkey) we learned a lot about social skills and we got to know each other well in this days... We did very interesting workshops about environment- what everybody could do/ change, and what are the differences about environment in the certain countries... we just had a real good time!

// Farewell Party (Party)
The farewell Party: We prepared a great dinner with- pasta, salad, bread, cake, chips and sweets...And we got the solution of the "secret-friend- game".The hole week everybody cared a lot for a certain person, who did`nt know who it was- the secret friend. On the last evening we had to guess: Surprises and a lot of fun. That describes the hole project: Surprises and good fun!

On the last afternoon, before we started the way back to Cuneo on the next day, we played the feedback- game: We had to write some things we were thinking about the otheres on their back. After finishing everbody was allowed to read the messages- many beautiful surprises!

When we Austrian people represented their country, we tried to teach a traditional childrens song to the youngsters: "Mei huat, der hat drei Eckn". (my hat has got three corners)

During our project there were four workshops foreseen for which were given four specific titles:
"What does "ecology" mean for you
Transport and challenges
Education
What are we doing?
Through these various workshops we really found out and could reflect a bit on ourbehavior related to the environment and its preservation, even in a future life on our planet.
Together we examined proposals to try on a small scale, but always with the aim to change peoples behavior, our personal one the the one of the people around us.
The first workshop was developed on a lawn, dividing the groups into two teams.
It was a kind of race, where you had to find two "people" places on the course, one called "what to do" and another "what can I do" - of course in respect ot environmental protection.
Subsequently we paused to discuss the behaviors and the diversity found in individual nations.
The second workshop has led to a discussion on various means of transport and their influence on the environment.
We started with a game similar to a spider's web. Divided into two groups, the boys have had to pass all members of the team from across the web without touching any part of course.
The third workshop was about our possibilities of how to increas the green areas around us - we made some little manikins out of grass, sand and natural material.
And the last thing was that we were asked to make a short comercial for promoting environmental topics.

Every day we had intercultural evenings, where the participants represented their home- countires by giving interesting information about culture and daily life. One of the photos shows how we do a traditional romanian dance all togehter. That was great fun!!!

and in between of course breakfast, lunch and dinner :)
